Plastic surgery procedures may or may not be covered by an individual’s insurance. Many plastic surgery procedures are often covered through insurance if it is considered medically necessary. This includes eyelid changes that cause a visual field obstruction, excessively large breasts, hand surgery, skin cancer and lesion removal.
Facial or body enhancement surgery is often not covered by insurance. This also includes non surgical treatments such as fillers or Botox®. Laser skin treatment to remove unwanted hair, broken capillaries, skin tightening or abnormal pigment is also not often covered. Aesthetician services are also not covered by insurance.
