What is a Pediatrician?

A Pediatrician is a doctor who specializes in the care of patients from birth through the age of 21 years. At least three years of their medical training after medical school is devoted exclusively to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting infants, children and adolescents.

Why choose a Pediatrician?

Pediatricians, by training and experience, can help deliver medical care best suited to your child's age and level of understanding.

Pediatricians are familiar with a wide variety of specialists and other community resources that are available to help your child or teen.

When complicated care is necessary, Pediatricians can help organize care for the best results. Most Aurora Advanced Healthcare Pediatricians are on staff at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.

Pediatricians conduct regular exams ( "well child care") to accomplish the goal of maintaining good health thru monitored general wellness, growth and development, nutritional and behavioral counseling and recommended immunizations. They also help educate children or teens and their parents about health and health hazards.
