I believe that communication is one of the cornerstones of delivering excellent patient care. Both the patient and physician need to clearly define expectations and treatment goals. Next is the use of advanced techniques to deliver the best possible care.
I earned my medical degree from Chicago Medical School. My residency in general surgery was completed at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn. Board certified in surgery, I am a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. I am also an assistant clinical professor of surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery.
While I perform the full scope of general and vascular surgery, my special interest is in minimally invasive surgery. As part of the Aurora Sinai Bariatric Surgery Program, I offer both traditional and laparoscopic bariatric surgery, and the new adjustable gastric band system – a minimally invasive alternative. I also perform advanced laparoscopic surgery for colon, hernias and esophageal disease, and thoracoscopy for lung disease. I also am trained to perform endovascular stents for aortic aneurysms, stereotactic biopsies for breast disease, and sentinel lymph node biopsy for skin or breast cancer.
