While I believe in a multidisciplinary approach to pain management, patient education and empowerment are vital for a successful outcome. Developing a rapport with and giving much of the responsibility to the patient are important factors in my practice.
In 1990, I earned my M.D. from Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland. My first residency in Internal Medicine was completed through James Connolly Memorial Hospital program in Blenchardstown-Dublin, Ireland. My secondary residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation was completed through Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I completed a Rheumatology/Physical Medicine fellowship at Beaumont Hospital and an Interventional Pain fellowship at Midatlantic Spine Institute in Delaware. I am Board Certified in Pain Medicine, Physiatry, Internal Medicine and Independent Medical Evaluations. I was Medical Director and Assistant Professor in the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. I am on the teaching faculty of the American Society of Interventional Pain Practitioners.
In 2001, I joined Advanced Healthcare and see patients at the East Mequon Clinic.
Professionally I enjoy musculoskeletal medicine and treating those afflicted with acute or chronic pain.
Personally, I enjoy golf, tennis, and spending time with my growing family.
