My goal is to help my patients help themselves. If patients take time to learn about their disease process, then the monitoring, exercise requirements and meal planning can run smoothly. Educated patients often make lifestyle changes that help them live longer, healthier lives.
I received my R.N. at Milwaukee County School of Nursing and later attended Marquette University to complete my bachelor’s degree. In 1986, I received my certification in diabetes education (CDE) and am a founding member of the Southeastern Wisconsin Association of Diabetes Educators (SWADE). In 1997 I received the Novo Nordisk Distinguished Service Award honoring excellence in education.
I speak regularly to the community on diabetes and related topics.
Away from the clinic, I enjoy sewing, cross stitch, crafts and spending time with my family.
