I work very closely with my patients in all forms of decision making from health maintenance to different choices of therapy. I strongly feel that establishing trust is a key to success in long term relationships and better outcome for the patient.
In 1980, I earned my M.B., B.S. from the University of Delhi, India. I was resident and then chief resident in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital of Chicago, Illinois. I completed a 3 year Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. I am Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. I was in private practice in Gastroenterology at Quincy, Illinois for 12 years before moving to Advanced Healthcare in April 2003.
My special interests are in preventive care of diseases, especially colon, pancreato- bilary and esophagal cancers. I enjoy all aspects of therapeutic endoscopy with endoscopic ccntrol of GI bleeding, removal of bile duct stones and colon polyps and placement of esophageal, enteral, colonic and bilary stents for palliative purposes. Also, I perform radiofrequency ablation therapy for Barret’s syndrome. I have keen interest in Reflux disease and Inflammotory Bowel Disease(Crohn's disease and Ulcerative Colitis) including newer modalities in diagnosis and therapy.
Away from the clinic, I enjoy time with my family and traveling. I am into keeping fit by practicing yoga and other aerobic exercises. I also enjoy golf.
