“As a patient, you must learn about your illness and understand its treatments. This allows you to gain a large measure of control. I’ll always have a strong recommendation on how to proceed, but I never forget that I work for you.”
I grew up and attended medical school in the Philippines. I trained in pathology at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y. followed by an internal medicine residency at Booth Memorial Medical Center in Flushing, N.Y. I then completed fellowships in hematology at the Unified Division of Hematology, Montefiore Medical Center and oncology at the Albert Einstein Cancer Center, both in the Bronx, N.Y.
I am board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. I have a special interest in clotting disorders and breast cancer.
Away from the clinic, I love to garden and collect conifers. My family is large and spread out all over the world, so we travel frequently.
