I provide excellent care by listening actively to words, intonations, gestures and facial expressions. I offer researchbased, understandable education. Joint decision-making is made when possible. I also add a healthy dose of humor.
I earned my master’s degree in nurse-midwifery from Columbia University in New York, N.Y., in 1980 after practicing five years as a registered nurse. My bachelor’s degree in nursing was completed at Alfred University in Alfred, N.Y., in 1975. I also have experience teaching undergraduate and graduate nurses. I am a board-certified nurse-midwife.
Although I no longer attend births as I had for 23 years, I offer my expertise in normal obstetrics and gynecology in the clinic setting. I see patients for annual gynecologic exams, minor gynecology problems, birth control (including Mirena IUD and Nexplanon insertions and removals), as well as first, follow-up and problem obstetric appointments. I enjoy working with women of all ages and of diverse cultures.
Away from the office, I enjoy bicycling, bowling, kayaking, reading and spending quality time with my family and friends.
