“Throughout my nearly 20 year career, I have worked primarily with inpatient and outpatient orthopaedic patients, treating a variety of conditions. I believe that the relationship between the therapist and patient is a partnership, and part of my job is to encourage patients to be proactive in their own care to maximize outcomes.”
In 1989, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee. I went on to become a Certified Hand Therapist (C.H.T.) specializing in the treatment of upper extremity injuries from the shoulder to the hand. Besides my training as a C.H.T., I have been a Registered Massage Therapist (R.M.T.) for the last eight years, bringing a holistic frame of reference to the treatment of my patients with upper extremity injuries.
I have found it especially gratifying to treat people who have sustained traumatic injuries, such as crush injuries, tendon injuries or amputations.
Away from the clinic, I enjoy traveling, cross-country skiing, hiking, cooking and spending time with my two Labrador retrievers and cat.
