“My aim is to help prevent and treat sprains, strains, fractures, tendinitis, bursitis, arthritis and other ailments associated with the muscles, tendons, bones, joints and nerves. I strive to get patients back functioning in sports, work or everyday activities as soon as possible.”
I received my bachelor’s degree in biology from Ripon College and completed a summer internship at the Mayo Clinic. At Marquette University, I completed graduate studies in physiology. My physician assistant degree was earned at the University of Wisconsin Medical School in 1995.
As a physician assistant, I take histories, perform examinations, order and interpret tests, make diagnoses, determine treatments, prescribe medications and assist in surgery. I am trained to provide approximately 85% of the services otherwise provided by a physician. I have extensive experience in joint injections and simple fracture care. I assist in major orthopaedic surgeries including fracture repair, joint replacements, rotator cuff and labral repair, knee ligament reconstruction, ankle reconstruction and spinal surgeries.
Professionally, I try to provide long-term musculoskeletal care, treating current problems and working to prevent others. Personally, I participated in football, soccer, rugby, basketball, volleyball, judo, boxing and karate. Experience in a variety of sports helps me understand the various injuries and training problems that can occur. I also enjoy hunting, traveling and spending time with my family.
